Pre-Approval Questionaire

1. What are your plans for a Dachshund puppy? (Examples: Show, pet, protection, breeding, etc.)

2. Are you prepared to devote at least 10 to 16 years (or more) to an animal whose main desire is to be an integral part of your family?

3. Dachshunds are very family oriented dogs and want to spend as much time with you as possible. Are you able to spend quality time with your dog?

4. Do you live in a place where you have ample room for an active puppy or dog to get the exercise it requires?

5. Have you checked pet limit laws in your area?

6. Have you checked regulations concerning mandatory spay/neuter in your area?

7. If you plan to crate your puppy or dog, how many hours per 24 hour period will he/she be crated?

8. Are you looking for a male or female?

9. Are you looking for a specific color/pattern?

10. Are you wanting a pup from a specific female and/or male?

11. Do you have young children?
11(a). If so, have they been, or will they be, coached in the proper treatment of animals?

12. Do you plan for your dog or puppy to be a housedog?

13. What type of temperament are you looking for?

14. Can you provide a veterinary reference to confirm your ability to properly care for a Dachshund? 
If not, are you willing to sign a contract to give quarterly updates and pictures through your puppy or dog's first year of ownership? (Updates and pictures are welcome throughout it's life).

15. Do you plan to train your puppy or take it to puppy classes so he/she will learn the manners needed to assure it will have a happy, comfortable life?
