DePayne's Little Pistol
Red Dapple
Nicely built boy with personality plus. He's very smart and personable with the kind of moxy you would expect from a dog bred to hunt badgers. He and the other boys are available for stud service. I'm thrilled with the quality he's producing! "Pooh" carries for piebald and has dapple and brindle in his pedigree. He weighs 9.2 pounds.
GB's Neat Nita Of J-Ron MS
Nita is a very nice black and tan who had 2 litters previously to joining us. She has proven to throw very nice quality pups. DePayne's Little Jelena

Chocolate and Tan
Jelena joined us from Texas in August 2007. I'm looking forward to seeing how these little ones will fare in agility. So far I'm seeing great possibilities in that area.

DePayne's Callista Angeni
(name means most beautiful spirit angel)
Black and Silver Dapple
Cally joined us in mid-September 2007 from Florida. My plans for her are the same as the others. She's just as sweet as she looks and is spoiled like all the others!
Cally carries for piebald and has brindle in her pedigree.
The Dachshund breed originated in the late 1800's and were originally used by German foresters to hunt badger. After discovering they made excellent trackers too, they were also used, and still are today, to follow blood trails to locate deer for hunters. Deer can travel long distances after being shot with arrows or guns before succumbing and Dachshunds have been proven to be excellent trackers. Over the years they've proven to be very versatile hunters, used to hunt rabbits and foxes, and used in packs to hunt wild boar.
They are small dogs with the moxy of a Doberman Pinscher. They are smart, tenacious, loving, and can be total clowns. They love being the center of attention. The short legs and long body can belie the amount of speed they can attain and the agility they possess.
It is uncertain what breeds were used to develop the Dachshund, but it is believed the European Braque or Bracke, the German Pinscher, and the Turnspit Dog may have been 3 of the breeds involved.
In America the Dachshund comes in 2 sizes and 3 haircoat types. The American sizes are miniature, 11 pounds and under at twelve months and older, and standard, which are 16 to 32 pounds at twelve months and older. The 3 haircoats are smooth, long haired, and wire haired.
The following is a list of many possible colors and color patterns seen in Dachshunds.
SOLIDS: The color may be solid or 'point' (a base coat with blackhairs mixed in, giving it a darker appearance).
*Red
*Cream
TWO COLOR (Solid color features with tan points)
*Black and tan
*Blue (gray) and tan
*Chocolate and tan
*Isabella (fawn) and tan
*WIld Boar (dark outer coat/lighter undercoat) and tan
*Brindle (Dark or black stripes may go over the entire body or only in the tan points)
*Dapple
*Single: Patches of lighter coat color on the darker coat. Dog may have blue eyes and
a large area of white on the chest.
*Double: Includes patches of light and dark coat, as well as patches of white. Dog may have blue eyes.
*Piebald: Coat is white with splashes of color.
As with the Dobermans, if you are buying a puppy as a family pet, spaying or neutering will make life happier and easier for you and your dog and reduce or remove chances of reproductive disorders and will avoid unwanted puppies.

CK's Wind In The Willow's MS
Chocolate and Tan
Willow is a very sweet girl whose sire is a gorgeous little Isabella and tan.
Willow is the only one I have who smiles when you ask her to.
Here is a video taken August 10, 2008. This is part of our daily playtime. My grandkids come down to help with the care and feeding of the dogs most days. My grandson was helping this time. His sister's 6 month old "tweenie" boy likes to come and play with the other dogs most days. Razor was neutered in November. The housedogs are always allowed to play with the kennel dogs. We like to keep them all sociable with each other. Part of being a family, even in my kennel, is getting along well. This was a great day to be outside playing. Comfortable temperatures for the time of year! Now that January is here, I'm sure missing those temps!!!!
